Specialty Adhesives

All you really need to scrapbook is an acid-free adhesive, such as photo tabs or a glue stick. But here are a few of my favorite specialty adhesives:

Hermafix: This tape roller comes in a plastic hand-held dispenser. I like it because it’s easy and fast to use. The adhesive is a dry micro-dot; it’s repositionable until it sits overnight and becomes permanent. It’s not messy—in fact, you can rub off any excess adhesive easily. A little pricier than other adhesives, but worth it!

Glue Dots™: These are super-sticky dots used to attach three-dimensional embellishments like buttons and ribbon to a page. They come on a roll; just press the embellishment onto the dot, then lift the embellishment and place it on your page. They are not repositionable.

Therm O Web Keep a Memory: This adhesive comes in small sheets; they’re nice because you can make any die-cut, Cut-Out™ or Punch-Out™ a sticker.

Foam Mounting Tape: Foam mounting tape is great for giving your pages a little dimension. It’s available from Scotch® as a roll, so you can cut whatever size piece you want. You can use one piece for a little dimension, or stack two or three pieces of tape on top of each other for more dimension. I use them to attach tags or other paper embellishments to the page.

Magic Scraps Scrappy Tape: I use this double-sided tape for attaching glitter or small beads to paper.
